What is Asset Impact?

Asset Impact is a program that allows growth-stage technology companies to scale-up and accelerate commercial performance. It does this by providing 6+ months of facilitated engagement and collaboration with our program partners - large owners and operators of real estate and infrastructure - who actively looking to deploy new technologies across their portfolios of 10,000+ assets. The program is run by RealTechX, a division of Taronga Group.

WHAT TYPES OF SOLUTIONS IS ASSET IMPACT LOOKING FOR?

Asset Impact is seeking applications from companies whose products / technologies deliver impact for real assets, either hardware or software solutions. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, embodied carbon, asset management, robotics, operational efficiency, tenant experience & safety, and risk assessment. Products must have the ability to deploy across one or more asset types in real estate (e.g. office, residential, retail, industrial, hospitality), infrastructure (e.g. energy, transport, water) and/or alternatives (e.g. data centres, healthcare).

WHO ARE ASSET IMPACT’S PARTNERS?

Asset Impact partners with leading real asset and infrastructure owners, developers and operators. These groups partner with the program to access emerging technologies that can impact their underlying assets and portfolios. Collectively, this year’s partners own and operate over 10,000 assets across all major asset classes.

Partners include:

  • APG – Dutch pension fund manager with global real asset investments, including significant exposure across Asia Pacific.
  • CapitaLand – Singapore-based global real asset owner, developer and manager with diversified portfolios in Asia, Europe and the US.
  • Dexus - Australian-listed real asset group managing office, industrial, retail and infrastructure assets across Australia.
  • Frasers Property – Singapore-based multinational property developer and investor with integrated real estate operations across Asia Pacific and Europe.
  • International Towers – Premium commercial office precinct in Sydney’s Barangaroo, owned by institutional capital and home to corporate tenants.

  • WiredScore (2022 program) expanded to 35+ countries across 4,000+ buildings and was acquired by Meter in 2026.
  • Xandar Kardian (2022 program) has deployed across 40+ million square feet of building space, including at healthcare, residential & commercial assets.

HOW DO PARTICIPATING COMPANIES GET CONNECTED TO PROGRAM PARTNERS?

RealTechX’s team will connect and facilitate ongoing engagement between program participants and program partners. RealTechX will make these connections on a case-by-case basis, as mutually requested by both parties, and will support efforts to work towards initial product deployments and the formalisation of commercial partnerships.

DO COMPANIES PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM RECEIVE INVESTMENT?

The RealTechX program is owned by Taronga Group, who also operate a series of technology investment funds. Funding opportunities from Taronga Group are explored individually with each company before, during or after the program. Program participants are not guaranteed investment and are not required to take investment from Taronga Group as a condition of participating in the program. Historically, ~40% of participants in previous programs have become part of Taronga Group’s portfolio.

DO PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO COME FROM A SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHY OR COUNTRY?

No. Previous applicants have originated from over 40 countries. In general, we look for companies who are willing and able to pursue business opportunities in the Asia Pacific (inc. Australia) and / or Middle East. Program participants do not need to have existing operations or customers in these regions, but should be open to supporting customers through on-the-ground resources (either their own staff, or via contractors).

IS THE PROGRAM IN PERSON OR ONLINE?

Program sessions and introductions to RealTechX’s program partners will be held online. There will be an in-person showcase to conclude the program, typically held in Australia, Singapore or Hong Kong, and participants should try to attend on a best endeavour basis. The showcase for this program cycle is expected to take place in March 2027.

WHAT COMPANY STAGE ARE YOU SEEKING FROM A FUNDING PERSPECTIVE?

RealTechX will select companies to participate in the program based on the demonstrated impact of their solutions (not based on investment stage or minimum revenue requirements). As guidance, we expect most participants will have raised a series A round or later and typically have revenues between US$500,000-$5,000,000 over the last 12-months. However, we have invited earlier stage companies with high-conviction technology solutions to participate in past programs.

HOW DO YOU SELECT WHICH APPLICANTS WILL PARTICIPATE?

RealTechX has a 3-stage selection process

1) Application screening: Applications are reviewed for program fit based on relevance of solution to the program and its partners. Applicants may be asked to join a 30-min call to better understand the product and team behind it.

2) Application review: Applications are scored by the RealTechX team against several performance factors and a shortlist is selected for presentation to program partners.

3) Participant selection: The RealTechX team and our program partners complete a final assessment for program fit, including additional interviews, commercial reviews, and references checks, before selecting and inviting the final group of ~12 companies to participate in the program.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR THE PROGRAM?

RealTechX is an 8-month program running from July 2026 to March 2027. Time commitment to programmatic activities is low - participants are required to attend 1x 60-min program session each month. The main time commitment is pursuing relationship building and business development activities with program partners.

Participants are required to commit to the entire program, to attend scheduled sessions held online and, on a best endeavours basis, to attend an in-person showcase to conclude the program. RealTechX will work with participant companies to identify the right company representatives to attend sessions and meetings. A full program schedule will be provided on being invited into the program.

Program dates may be adjusted by RealTechX at its absolute discretion.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROGRAM?

After the scheduled program, the RealTechX team will work closely with participants for a further 6-months to support the delivery of opportunities that have come out of the program. Participants will then become part of the RealTechX alumni network and will be invited to participate in ecosystem events and to assist future RealTechX participants to be successful. From time to time, RealTechX will continue to make introductions to potential customers and partners for past program companies.

Who has participated in the past?
